The opening was framed to fit any standard shower pan or tub that is 60" long. we brought the unit into the bathroom and attempted to test fit it in place. this is when we realized that the bottom of the front of the tub was almost 60 1/4" . We were not going to drive it back the hour and a half to return it so we had to fight to get this into place chipping the fiberglass on the side in the process. In order to get this unit to sit on the ground, we had to notch the bottom wall plates on each side to fit the oversized apron. If planing on getting this unit for new construction I would recommend having the shower base onsite first so you can frame it to whatever ...
